INTERCAMBIO DE INGLÉS
1º BAC

EXETER
It was Sunday the 18th when we left Spain and got on the plane that was going to take us to our destiny: Exeter.
We were really excited, about having this experience. When we arrived, we met our exchange partner students; some of us were staying over the night at the boarding school, others went to their respective homes with their English families.
The next day we discover our school. This was huge, big rugby fields, many facilities, and a lot of students staring at us and whispering things. The days passed quickly and we had lots of trips, we went to Exeter cathedral, Tiertown, and our exchange students took us to many places.
We also had lots of fun, with parties, and some of us went to London at the weekend.
It was such a great opportunity for us, you don’t really have the chance to go to a foreign country every month and we absolutely wouldn’t mind repeating this experience again.

English students in our school
Last September a group of English students came to our school and our houses. They were a group of sixteen boys (it was a curious thing only boys) but they were very nice people, polite and they were enthusiastic about Spanish parties and culture.
First, they arrived at our school and met each other and went home. We introduced our members of the family to them and offered a little relax and food.
The following day, they were in the school in the morning learning our educational Spanish system and our costumes. Besides of course, they tried to learn Spanish. In the morning they entered into our lessons and had cultural visits around Valladolid.
In the afternoons all Spanish students met them to do activities such as: Going into pubs, playing football in the school and going for walks in town.
Next, they went to Madrid to visit the capital of Spain, they enjoyed a lot visiting the Bernabeu Stadium, the centre of the city and going shopping. The next day, they went to Salamanca to visit this beautiful cultural town.
At the weekend, we went out with them, and saw them our customs about enjoying ourselves on Saturday night. On Sunday, all the students were with their families. Some of them went for a trip to other interesting towns, others had a big and typical lunch out and others stayed at home with all their families. It was a funny day for all of us.
Finally, they went back to England and all of us were really sad. We gave them a Spanish flag with our signatures and we wished to go to England to live our own experience.
In conclusion, it has been an interesting experience for us meeting people from other country and for them because they could know the differences between the Spanish and English culture.
It’s an exchange that it has been worth living!
